Whole towns get malaria drugs in bid to shield kids

NCT ID NCT07358767

Summary

This study tested a community-wide approach to prevent malaria. Researchers gave anti-malaria medicine to everyone in participating households, including people who felt fine, to see if this would reduce the overall spread of the parasite. They focused on protecting children under 15 and pregnant women, who are most vulnerable to severe illness. The goal was to see if treating entire communities could lower malaria rates more effectively than only treating sick people.
