Scientists deliberately infect volunteers to fight malaria
NCT ID NCT05071079
Summary
This study aims to find a safe and reliable way to give healthy volunteers a controlled, mild malaria infection. Researchers will inject a small, frozen sample of malaria-infected blood into up to 48 healthy Thai adults and monitor them closely in a hospital. The goal is to create a standard testing model to help develop and evaluate future malaria vaccines and drugs more quickly.
