Summary
This study compares two brain stimulation treatments for people with severe bipolar depression or depression that hasn't responded to medications. Researchers want to see if magnetic seizure therapy works as well as electroconvulsive therapy but with fewer side effects, particularly on memory and thinking. The study will measure how many people achieve remission from depression and track any changes in cognitive function.
