Magnetic tracer trial aims to sharpen stomach cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT05038098

Summary

This early-stage study is testing the safety and feasibility of a new magnetic tracer, FerroTrace, used alongside a fluorescent dye to help surgeons better identify the lymph nodes most likely to contain cancer during stomach removal surgery. The goal is to improve the accuracy of cancer staging, which guides treatment decisions. The study will enroll about 20 adults with localized stomach cancer who are scheduled for curative surgery.
