Magnet-Guided camera could revolutionize colon exams for IBD patients

NCT ID NCT06989424

Summary

This study is testing a new, flexible camera called the Magnetic Flexible Endoscope (MFE) to see if it can safely and comfortably examine the colon in people with stable inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The device uses a magnet on a robotic arm outside the body to gently guide the tiny camera through the colon, potentially reducing pain and the need for sedation. Researchers will compare the experience of this new method to a standard colonoscopy in six participants.
