Swallow a tiny magnet: painless screening for stomach diseases on the horizon
NCT ID NCT04068480
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study is testing a new, painless way to screen for diseases of the esophagus and stomach using a tiny magnetic capsule that you swallow. Researchers want to see if changing how patients swallow the capsule can give better views of the esophagus, especially the Z-line. The study will involve 300 people who are already scheduled for a small bowel capsule endoscopy. The goal is to improve detection of conditions like reflux esophagitis without the need for a traditional endoscopy.
