Magnets instead of staples: new approach to colon surgery

Summary

This study is testing a new medical device that uses magnets to connect sections of intestine during colon surgery. The goal is to see if this magnet system is safe and works properly for patients having surgery for colorectal cancer or diverticular disease. Researchers will follow 20 participants for 60 days after surgery to check for complications like leaks or blockages at the connection site.
