First seen Apr 20, 2026 · Last updated Apr 20, 2026
Summary
This study is testing whether giving magnesium sulfate to pregnant women at high risk of preterm birth can prevent cerebral palsy in their babies. Researchers will compare the magnesium treatment against a placebo in 138 women between 32 and 35 weeks of pregnancy. The main goal is to see if this common, inexpensive medication can safely reduce the risk of babies developing this serious movement disorder.
