First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding magnesium sulfate to a standard nerve block can better control pain after a mastectomy. One hundred women having breast removal surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either the standard block or one with added magnesium. The main goal is to see if the magnesium group needs less opioid pain medicine in the first 24 hours after surgery.
