Summary

This study tests whether taking magnesium L-threonate for six weeks improves sleep quality, mental focus during fatigue, and muscle function in healthy adults aged 18 to 45. Participants receive either the supplement or a placebo, and researchers measure sleep scores, reaction times, and jump height. The trial also looks at whether effects differ by sex or weight.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
magnesium L-threonate (a dietary supplement)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a simple supplement to help healthy adults sleep better and think more clearly when mentally tired.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial in healthy people, so results may not apply to everyone. The supplement may show no benefit over a placebo.
