Summary

This study tested whether giving a low dose of magnesium during and after back surgery helps reduce pain in the days following the operation. It involved 60 adults having lumbar spine surgery. The goal was to see if magnesium could lessen the need for strong opioid painkillers and help patients recover more comfortably.
