Magic mushrooms take on untreatable depression in new trial
NCT ID NCT06898606
Summary
This study is exploring if a single guided therapy session using psilocybin (the active compound in 'magic mushrooms') can help adults whose depression hasn't responded to standard antidepressants. All 24 participants will receive the mushroom therapy, but half will also take the antidepressant fluoxetine for four weeks to see if it changes the experience or results. The main goal is to see if symptoms improve four weeks after the session.
