New eye surgery could eliminate Post-Op Face-Down recovery
NCT ID NCT06908824
Summary
This study compares two surgical techniques for repairing macular holes, a condition that can cause permanent central vision loss. The standard surgery uses a gas bubble and requires patients to maintain a face-down position for days afterward. The new technique uses a different flap method and aims to avoid the gas bubble and face-down recovery, potentially making the process easier for patients while still effectively closing the hole.
