Summary

This study tested whether using artificial intelligence (machine learning) to plan radiation treatment could reduce side effects like trouble swallowing for people with head and neck cancer. About 200 adults receiving curative radiation took part. Researchers compared standard planning to AI-assisted planning and measured swallowing problems and other side effects before, right after, and 3 months after treatment.
