AI predicts which kids need palliative care

NCT ID NCT06886529

First seen Mar 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests whether a machine-learning model can predict serious heart events in children admitted to the hospital. The model alerts doctors each morning about high-risk patients, so they can decide if a palliative care team should be involved. Researchers will compare what happens before and after the model is used, looking at whether it leads to earlier and more appropriate care. About 1,000 children will take part.
