AI predicts heart emergencies in kids – could save lives?

NCT ID NCT06886529

First seen Mar 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests whether a computer model can predict serious heart events in children admitted to the hospital. Each morning, the model flags high-risk patients and alerts doctors, who then decide if a palliative care team should be involved. Researchers will compare outcomes before and after using the model to see if it leads to earlier care and fewer deaths in the ICU. About 1,000 children will take part.
