New approach tested for lingering lyme disease misery

NCT ID NCT06785402

Summary

This early-phase study is testing whether giving the antibiotic ceftriaxone in pulses (once every five days for about six weeks) can help people with persistent symptoms after Lyme disease treatment. Twenty participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the antibiotic or a placebo via IV, with follow-up for a full year. The main goals are to check if this schedule is safe and tolerable, and to see if it reduces symptoms like fatigue and pain.
