New breathing technique studied in heart pump patients
NCT ID NCT07034599
First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looks at how a special breathing method (negative pressure ventilation) affects the heart's right side in people who have a left ventricular assist device (LVAD). About 30 adults who recently had LVAD surgery and are stable will try both standard and negative pressure breathing for 15 minutes each. Researchers will measure changes in heart function to learn more about supporting the right side of the heart.
