New drug tested to fight severe anemia after Life-Saving leukemia transplant

NCT ID NCT07362095

Summary

This study is testing if a drug called luspatercept is safe and can help treat anemia (low red blood cells) in people who have had a stem cell transplant for acute leukemia. The main goal is to see if the drug can increase hemoglobin levels enough to reduce the need for blood transfusions. Researchers will give the drug as two injections after the transplant and monitor patients closely for 8 weeks.
