New weekly shot aims to tame lupus flares and cut steroid dependence

NCT ID NCT07430306

Summary

This study is testing a weekly injection called anifrolumab, added to standard lupus medication, in people who have not yet tried strong immunosuppressant drugs. The main goal is to see if the treatment can help patients achieve a state of very low disease activity or remission. A key part of the study is to see if patients can successfully reduce or even stop their daily steroid pills while on this new therapy.
