New wrist surgery aims to ease debilitating pain from old fractures

Summary
This study is testing a specific type of wrist fusion surgery called lunocapitate fusion. It aims to reduce pain and improve hand function in adults with advanced wrist arthritis caused by an old scaphoid fracture that never healed properly. Researchers will follow 35 patients for a year after surgery to see how well the procedure works and how safe it is.
