Storytime before surgery: could a talking toy calm young patients?
NCT ID NCT03740841
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This small pilot study looked at whether using an interactive storyteller called LUNII could lower anxiety before surgery in children aged 4 to 6 with cleft lip and palate who were getting a bone graft. The study planned to measure anxiety levels in the operating room and track pain and recovery after surgery. Only 15 children were enrolled before the study was stopped early, so results are limited.
