Summary
This study tested a personalized breathing machine setting during surgery to reduce lung complications in 136 elderly patients (ages 60-80) undergoing upper abdominal laparoscopic surgery. The approach aimed to improve oxygen levels and lower the risk of lung problems after surgery. Results may help tailor ventilation to each patient for better recovery.
