Ultrasound vs. blood test: which better measures lung illness in ICU?

NCT ID NCT05631756

First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looked at 86 ICU patients with a lung condition called interstitial syndrome. Researchers compared a lung ultrasound score to a standard blood oxygen test to see if the ultrasound could reliably measure how severe the illness is. They repeated both tests at the start, 24 hours, and 48 hours to track changes over time.
