Doctors use ultrasound to help ventilated babies breathe easier and avoid infection

NCT ID NCT07254507

Summary

This study tested if using a safe, painless lung ultrasound to guide how a baby is positioned could better prevent pneumonia in newborns who need a breathing machine. Researchers compared this personalized approach to the standard practice of turning babies every two hours. The goal was to see if the ultrasound-guided method could help keep the lungs clear and reduce serious infections.
