First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looks at whether doing lung reopening maneuvers several times during spine surgery (while lying face-down) helps keep the lungs open better than doing it just once. Sixty adults having elective spine surgery will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. Doctors will use lung ultrasound to check for lung collapse and measure breathing mechanics.
