New study tests breathing trick to protect Kids' lungs during surgery

Summary
This study looks at whether a specific breathing technique (called a recruitment maneuver) during surgery can prevent lung collapse in children aged 1-14. About 78 kids having surgery lasting at least 2 hours will be randomly assigned to one of three groups, each with different breathing settings. Doctors will use lung ultrasound to check how well the lungs are working and measure the energy delivered by the ventilator, aiming to reduce breathing problems after surgery.
