Simple scan could help save moms from dangerous fluid buildup

NCT ID NCT07261956

Summary

This study is testing whether a simple, non-invasive lung ultrasound can reliably detect dangerous fluid overload in pregnant women with severe preeclampsia. Researchers will scan the lungs of 202 patients at key times—upon hospital admission, right after delivery, and about a week later—to see if the scan spots early signs of fluid better than standard checks for breathing problems. The goal is to provide doctors with a better tool to prevent serious lung complications in these high-risk mothers.
