NCT ID NCT03112044

First seen May 13, 2026 ยท Last updated May 13, 2026

Summary

This study explores whether lungs from donors with hepatitis C can be safely given to recipients without the virus. The lungs are treated with a special machine (EVLP) to try to reduce the virus, and if infection occurs, standard antiviral drugs are used. The goal is to see if this approach is safe and can expand the donor lung supply.
