New hope for lung transplant patients: drug trial aims to stop organ failure

NCT ID NCT06476132

Summary

This study is testing whether adding the drug belumosudil to standard care can prevent chronic lung rejection in high-risk transplant patients. Researchers will enroll 234 lung transplant recipients who show early signs of inflammation or rejection on a recent biopsy. Participants will take either belumosudil or a placebo for one year while researchers track lung function, need for re-transplant, and survival.
