One shot before transplant could shield kidneys
NCT ID NCT05950724
Summary
This study is testing if a single injection of a medication called Etanercept, given right before a lung transplant, can help prevent kidney injury after the surgery. It will involve 20 patients at Northwestern Memorial Hospital who are scheduled for a lung transplant. Researchers will compare kidney function and recovery in patients who receive the injection to those who receive standard care alone.
