New hope for more lung transplants: machine trial aims to save more donor lungs
NCT ID NCT07361718
Summary
This study is testing two different machines designed to clean and improve the quality of donor lungs before they are transplanted. It focuses on lungs from donors that are not ideal but could still be used, aiming to make more lungs available for patients who need them. The research will compare how well each machine works by looking at whether the lungs are accepted for transplant and how patients recover afterwards.
