Breathing help during surgery: can extra oxygen calm inflammation?

NCT ID NCT07393490

Summary

This study is looking at a specific anesthesia technique used during lung cancer surgery. When surgeons operate on one lung, the other lung is temporarily not breathing. Researchers want to see if gently blowing oxygen into that non-breathing lung reduces tissue stress and harmful inflammation. They will compare results from 56 patients, half receiving this extra oxygen and half receiving standard care, to see if it leads to better recovery.
