New breathing technique aims to protect lungs after surgery

NCT ID NCT06296173

Summary

This study is testing if a specific 'open lung' technique for removing the breathing tube after abdominal surgery can reduce lung complications like pneumonia or collapsed lung. It will involve 270 adults at high risk for these problems. The main goal is to see if running this larger study is practical and to gather early information on whether the new technique helps.
