Tiny study tests lung pressure tool during One-Lung breathing

NCT ID NCT04725318

First seen Feb 27, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This small study looked at whether it's possible to measure pressure inside the lungs during surgeries where only one lung is used for breathing. Six adults having non-cardiac surgery took part. Researchers compared a pressure-measuring tube in the esophagus with a special imaging technique to see when the lung collapses. The study was stopped early, so results are limited.
