Doctors probe hidden link between breathing machines and heart failure
NCT ID NCT04184674
Summary
This study aimed to understand how the pressure from a breathing machine (ventilator) affects heart function in patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). Researchers monitored 50 adults and children with ARDS to see if specific pressure levels were linked to heart strain and worse health outcomes. The goal was to gather knowledge to help guide safer ventilator settings in the future.
