Doctors test new way to Fine-Tune breathing support for critically ill
NCT ID NCT07141524
Summary
This study aims to better understand how the lungs work in critically ill patients who are on a heart-lung bypass machine (VA ECMO) and a breathing ventilator. Researchers will test if using special monitors to guide ventilator pressure settings can improve how air and blood flow are matched in the lungs. The study will observe 10 adult patients to gather this information, but it is not testing a new treatment.
