Scientists probe Lungs' inner battle against 'Fake' infection

NCT ID NCT02392442

Summary

This study aims to understand how healthy lungs start and stop inflammation, which is the body's response to infection. Researchers will study healthy, non-smoking adults by placing a harmless bacterial-like substance into a small part of the lung and then collecting lung fluid and cells to see how they react. The goal is to learn more about the body's natural healing process, not to treat a disease.
