Summary
This study looked at how immune cells in the lungs respond to a TB protein called PPD. Seventeen adults—some with latent TB and some without—received PPD directly into their lungs during a bronchoscopy. Researchers then collected lung cells and used scans to measure immune activity. The goal was to better understand local immune responses, not to treat or cure TB.
