New approach may shorten treatment time for Cancer-Related lung fluid

NCT ID NCT03465774

Summary

This study compares two methods for treating fluid buildup around the lungs in cancer patients. Researchers want to see if adding a medication called doxycycline to a standard drainage catheter helps patients finish treatment faster. About 208 participants will choose either the catheter alone or the catheter plus medication, then be followed for up to a year to see which approach works better.
