No-Radiation lung scanner could change how we track breathing problems in children

NCT ID NCT07247474

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 29, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study will use a new, safe machine called Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) to look at the lungs of children from 2 weeks to 25 years old. EIT uses harmless electrical signals, like an EKG for the heart, instead of radiation. Researchers want to compare lung images from children with chronic lung disease to those without, to better understand how lung structure and function change over time.
