Blood pressure pill may supercharge cancer treatment
NCT ID NCT05387512
Summary
This study tested if adding a common, inexpensive beta blocker (a type of heart/blood pressure medication) to a standard immunotherapy drug (camrelizumab) could make the cancer treatment work better for people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer. Researchers enrolled 59 patients to compare the safety and effectiveness of the combination versus the immunotherapy alone. They also analyzed whether the potential benefits would be worth the cost for healthcare systems.
