VA launches major trial to settle debate: surgery or radiation for lung cancer?

Summary
This study aims to find out if surgery or a targeted, high-dose radiation treatment is better for people with early-stage lung cancer. It will enroll 670 veterans and other patients who are healthy enough for either treatment. Researchers will follow participants for at least 5 years to see which group lives longer and has a better quality of life.
