Bronx study aims to catch lung cancer earlier with new screening hub

NCT ID NCT06284408

First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a Central Screening Unit (CSU) can help more people in the Bronx get screened for lung cancer. The CSU handles tasks like checking eligibility and scheduling scans, so busy doctors don't have to. Researchers will see if this approach leads to more early-stage lung cancer diagnoses, which are easier to treat. About 9,460 current and former smokers aged 50-77 will take part.
