Family lung cancer history triggers new screening study

NCT ID NCT05762731

First seen Jun 09, 2026 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026

Summary

This study is testing whether low-dose CT scans can find lung cancer early in people aged 50 to 75 who have a parent, sibling, or child with lung cancer. Unlike most screening programs that focus on heavy smokers, this study also includes non-smokers. The goal is to see if family history alone is enough reason to screen for lung cancer.
