Lung cancer study aims to predict dangerous lung inflammation
NCT ID NCT06192004
First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This observational study followed 83 people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer who were starting standard treatments. The goal was to gather information to help develop a digital tool that could spot early signs of pneumonitis/ILD, a serious lung inflammation that can occur as a side effect of some cancer drugs. Researchers looked at risk factors and symptoms to improve how this condition is detected and managed.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a digital tool that helps doctors identify lung cancer patients at risk of pneumonitis/ILD earlier.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a treatment trial, so it won't directly help patients. The study was terminated early, so results may be limited.
Conditions
The condition(s) this trial relates to.
As listed by the trial registrant
The condition terms exactly as the trial's registrant entered them.
