Lab-Grown mini tumors could predict best lung cancer therapy

NCT ID NCT03655015

First seen Apr 15, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study creates a 'living biobank' of miniature lung tumors (organoids) from 150 patients with early-stage lung cancer. Researchers will test how these lab-grown tumors respond to chemotherapy and targeted drugs, comparing results to what happens in the patient. The goal is to learn whether these organoids can reliably predict which treatment will work best for each person, paving the way for more personalized care.
