New drug combo aims to keep aggressive lung cancer at bay

Summary
This early-stage study is testing whether a combination of two drugs, valemetostat and atezolizumab, is safe and effective as a maintenance therapy for people with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer. The goal is to help keep the cancer from growing or returning after patients have completed their initial chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Researchers will first find the safest dose and then see if this treatment approach can help patients live longer without their cancer getting worse.
