New hope for lung cancer patients after standard treatment fails

NCT ID NCT02442349

Summary

This study tested an experimental drug called AZD9291 for people in Asia Pacific with advanced non-small cell lung cancer. The participants had a specific genetic change (T790M mutation) and their cancer had gotten worse despite previous treatment with a common type of targeted therapy. The main goal was to see if the new drug could safely shrink their tumors and control the disease.
