Scientists check if common pill alters cancer drug

NCT ID NCT02157883

Summary

This study aimed to understand how a common antifungal drug (itraconazole) affects the blood levels of a lung cancer drug (AZD9291, now known as osimertinib). It involved 39 adults with a specific type of advanced lung cancer that had worsened after previous treatment. The main goal was to measure drug interactions, not to test a new cure.
